Swimmers' Sunscreen Killing Off Coral →
Yet another interesting explanation for coral bleaching. Enjoy those coral reefs while they last since it seems like they won’t be around much longer, given the seemingly innumerable ways in which we appear to be trying to destroy all of them!

Parrots and Profits →
Over drinks recently, I yet again successfully stopped myself from launching into a harangue that began with, “I can’t believe you’ve never heard of parrot smuggling! It’s horrible and a huge problem!” I will cap this success by posting a link to this very thorough article from the National Zoo in D.C., so that anyone who is interested in finding out more can do so...

Life After People - The History Channel →
One of the many ideas with which I intermittently become obsessed is that of a post-apocalyptic world. Monday at 9pm… watch the trailer. It looks FASCINATING. I don’t know if it’s based on or is just a complete rip-off of the book “The World Without Us” by Alan Weisman, but I’m reminded that I still need to read that one.

Is the Cuy Fresh Today? →
OMFG! Generally I feel that if one is going to eat meat, one should recognize that eating a cow or chicken is philisophically no different from eating a pet dog or cat, but still… you can SEE THE FACE.
